Dear Readers of The forum As to the question regarding the JSQM-MQM alliance, let me clarify this position that JSQM is not sitting in the government as Mr Bashir Qureshi chairman JSQM has been saying over and over again that JSQM and MQM agreed on the following three points and the leadership of MQM promised to work towards the achievement of the same when they were in the government: 1-NFC AWARD: DUE SHARE OF SINDH ON THE AMOUNT OF CONTRIBUTION MADE BY SINDH TO PAKISTAN'S TOTAL TAXATION AND NOT ON ANY OTHER BASIS WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE.
2-UNEMPLOYMENT:THE PEOPLE OF SINDH WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY IN JOBS TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF UNEMPLOYED SINDHI YOUTH TO THE MINIMUM POSSIBLE.
3- WATER PROBLEM:NO DAMS WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE OVER THE INDUS RIVER It is needless to say that since MQM is sitting in the government, like all FEDERALIST PARTIES is compelled to somehow serve the Punjabi interests but how can one forget that the very MQM (when its activists were killing innocent Sindhi people without any discrimination)was an ally of PPP!!?? Would someone say a word or two about that alliance as well before pointing his barrel at JSQM(since AT LEAST JSQM HAS NOT MADE ANY FRIENDS WITH MQM WHEN ITS ACTIVISTS ARE KILLING SINDHI PEOPLE)!!?? There is a famous Sindhi adage that: "MURS UHOO JO WIRHAN BA JAREN AND THAHAN BA JAREN!"
JSQM-MQM alliance is based on common understanding of the afore-mentioned three issues that need an immediate solution. At least JSQM have not allowed MQM to shoot Sindhi people at will and made friends with them when their hands are dubbed with Sindhi blood like PPP!!Besides JSQM have not had to bow before MQM to come to terms with this common understanding that both parties share (unlike PPP that required MQM at the cost of Sindhi blood as a partner in the government)but it is the leadership of MQM that held out its hand of friendship to JSQM.Would someone bear these facts in mind!!?? We are not afraid of criticism nor do we run away from it but the only thing that I would like to remind all of you is that please do not hide facts and tell one side of the story. Otherwise as one Urdu poet has rightly said: AGAR ISHIQ PAR ILZAM LAGOI GEY JURUM KA TO HUSN KO RUSWA SUREY BAZAR KARENGEY
'Democracy','rule of law' and all such fancy terms when applied to a state like Pakistan lose their respective meanings since Pakistan itself is a great mockery and joke with the civilised world of today that we live in. For people who will keep harping on the same string, it would be suffice to say in Sindhi that: " JO AAZMAI KHEY AAZMAI DHOR MOHN MEIN PAI"
The Punjabi establishment would never want the people of Sindh to become one and united against the common aggression that both old and new Sindhis(Urdu Speaking Sindhis)face alike and let me say this that all those who are against this JSQM-MQM alliance are also their mouth pieces and MAGANHAARS.
JSQM is just a political party, it is not Sindhi people, it is only a segment of the Sindhi people. So it is not shocking that JSQM allying with the direct enemy of Sindh (Urdu-speaking immigrants from India that colonized Sindh and are continuing to colonize Sindh).
G. M. Syed has been quoted as saying that:
"The Mohajirs (Urdu-speaking foreign colonists in Sindh) have no homeland, they left India and after the creationg of Sindhu Desh they will have no place but the Arabian Sea."
JSQM is not a segment of the people of Sindh but this party actually represents the noble cause of an independent Sindh as envisaged by Saeen GM Syed free from the exploitation of Punjab and its local agents for the masses of Sindh. Although the sole beneficiary from this alliance has been MQM so far but this alliance has nevertheless created a sense of good will amongst the old and new Sindhi masses. We welcomed the Urdu speaking refugees from India at the time of partition and thus provided them with an opportunity to become an integrated part of our society...They have yet to show that they are very much part of us and this alliance was actually a harbinger of that dawn.Let us hope that this alliance will materialise this dream of a united Sindh against the exploitation of Punjab in the name of Pakistan and Islam.
It is an utter contradiction to say that the cause of Saeen GM Syed can tolerate the continued existance of the Urdu-speaking foreign colonists from parts of India. Dear Saeen GM Syed wrote in his books that the Urdu-speaking people are generally an arrogant people that do not want to assimilate with the new culture they immigrate to, and they impose their own language on the indigenous populace. Dear Saeen GM Syed even wrote to the point that Urdu-speaking people can not live in Sindh and must be deported unless they learn Sindhi and or they have at least 3 generations of forebears born and raised on Sindhi soil. Do you want me to quote the exact quote and tell you the name of the book(s), chapter(s), paragraph(s), and sentence(s)?
I think Muhajir are not nationalty. Through this allaince you admit that Muhajir are are independent nationalty . Actual Muhajir are part of Sindhi nationalty, so this allaince is not in favor of Sindhi nationalty. If you believe that sindhu Desh will be an independent country, you should believe in the thesis of G.M.Syed that Muhajir are against, therefore allaince with M.Q.M is against the mission of Syed and independent Desh
The words of Saeen G.M. Syed are definitely not words of God in the first instance. Secondly, Saeen G.M. Syed himself flirted with MQM and approved of their politics. While denigrating the Muhajirs in his works, he has also mentioned the fact of Muhajir oppression by the state authorities. Thirdly, if Sindhis and Muhajirs can come together and cooperate on federal and provincial issues, then it is good for the provincial politics of Sindh. We have seen conflicts between different ethnic groups for a long time now which have only tended to make the state more powerful and provided it with a convenient excuse to make its presence felt. Lastly, the Muhajirs who came from India and took away everything from the Sindhis were a different class/status group. The MQM represents the middle and lower middle class Muhajirs and has grievances against those elite Muhajirs who failed to support the middle and lower middle class Muhajir cause.
No person is available for National movement like Imdad Mohammad Shah who always tried to do co-relation of Urdu speaking and Sindhis. JSQM's step to choose a diffrent way of Sain G M Syed. Syed wrote in his books Urdu speaking are natural allies of Sindhis.
